.. Oh. Hello, didn’t see you there. We’re glad you could make it, today.
Today, at virtuallanomaly, we have some news for you guys, as well as a fun lotd, and a little bio about a music artist. So, our usual ramblings. Hope you can stick through until the end, we promise it’ll be a good one!

So, tomorrow (October 10), body modification will open to the public. Body modification is an event on the grid, located at the depraved nation sim. One of the items which is to be featured there, will be an awesome pair of horns, by Remarkable Oblivion. The ‘Baphomet’ Horns. They come in two colours – red and white, and are made to the unbelievable high standards, we now associate with RO. We’re unsure as to what else will be featured in this event, but it is worth it to go along, even to only grab the horns. They are amazing. (Thankyou Blair, they are absolutely beautiful, we LOVE them.)

Another couple of items featured today are upcoming. These items, are by Contraption. The antlers, the mask and the sickle, are all up-coming items from contraption’s new story lines Beks mentioned last time. An alternative version of the mask was released for euphoria a few months back, but there will be other versions released in the future. The items have been blogged before, and I wear them in almost every outfit, so I can assure you, they are to the high standards of Contraption; in fact, they are beyond anything Faust has created in the past. They are out-of-this-world-amazing. So be sure to keep your eyes pealed for these releases!

Before you go, I Beks, am going to take this opportunity to talk a little about my favourite band: Mind.in.a.box.
Mind.in.a.box is an Austrian, Electronic/Synth band. Formed in 2000, their first album was released in 2002 – Lost Alone. Their debut album was such a success, it was granted the number one spot in the Deutsche Alternative Charts,  where it stayed for 5 consecutive weeks.
For their albums, the songs feature monologues, snippets of audio logs and conversations that combine to tell a story that spans the albums. Together, they form a mysterious epic that draws on Science Fiction, Fantasy and Noir Fiction.
I’d love to talk through the story behind these albums, but listening to them is part of the good thing about the story. Not many bands do this, and I believe it to be one of the reasons there music is beyond amazing. The music produced by mind.in.a.box, as well as Stefan’s side project – Loomec, is completely inspiring. I could and will listen to them for days on end; they bring such an unusual, alternative, mysterious feel to music, and I really hope you guys get the chance to listen to some of their work. Your minds will be blown. If you are interested in knowing more, I’d advise you to google them, and check out their page; mind.in.a.box.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Werido’s and Oddballs. Welcome, welcome, to the one and only; VirtuallAnomaly. 
A peculiar virtual blog, discussing all things freaky. 

This post is going to be a big one. Why? Many reasons: Today has been eventful; Contraption is participating in an awesome gacha event & I’m featuring a recipe. [Maybe other reasons too, we shall see when I get to them, but really, I just don’t want my posts to be your typical mundane “oh yeah SL fashion” posts.]

Firstly – I am no longer car-less! Hah, I know; this is probably not what you expected to be reading about when you found this post. It’s difficult to explain how much one relies on a car – unless you have one. I’ve only been car-less for 4 days, and I’m actually surprised at how much this affected my life! Alas, it is no longer a worry, as I am now the proud owner of a 2011 Hyundai i20. If you don’t know this car, you should look it up! It’s fucking fantastic. So, my day has been pretty damned awesome, just with the car alone. I got a great deal, and even though I am now a student who is also in debt to her parents for the next few years, I couldn’t be happier!

Don’t care if you didn’t read the above paragraph, nor do I care if it bored you. D : <
It’s mine and sky’s blog, if we want to post about cars we will dammit, we WILL.

Secondly – I lost 5lbs this week. My weight has always been an issue for me, I’ve been doing the “yo-yo-ing diets” for years, but this time it’s not going to come back up. I’ve no secrets, I just go to the gym 4-5 times a week and do at least 1.5 hours per session. The joys of having a best friend who is like a Nazi when it comes to eating and being healthy. Hah. So, whether you like it or not, you’ll be getting the occasional update on my weight loss. I need somewhere to post it, mainly for my own record, and I figured it’d be more fun to post it here – at least we can discuss weight loss/being healthy/give tips if we so desire. I know eating healthily is an issue a lot of us deal with these days.

*Blinks* I’ve totally forgotten what else I planned to write about today…Forgive me, it’s 1.42am and I’ve only been home from work for an hour or so. 

Before I get onto the part you’re probably here for, I’m going to show you guys and quickly run through the process of cooking my wonderful dinner I had earlier. Peppered Steak with Boiled Asparagus and a creamy pepper sauce. Can you say foodporn? :Q___________________

I only recently began to enjoy Asparagus as a vegetable, actually. I’ve never been the biggest fan, but I have such a craving for a good steak, accompanied with asparagus, quite often these days. It helps that it’s a quick, easy and healthy meal. So, I’ll post my version of it below, and I hope you guys enjoy! If you don’t, feel free to say, or even give me tips. I’m no pro, after all, I just love cooking!

Ingredients:

• Steak of choice. [I use sirloin, it’s my second favorite cut, and it’s actually something I can occasionally afford.]
• Asparagus tips. [I used a good couple of handfuls.]
  
• Pepper. [Ground + Full peppercorns.]
  
• Milk. [40ml]
• Single Cream. [50ml]
• Olive Oil.
• Salt.

Directions:

1. Wash hands. [Just in case you forget!]
   
2. Wash Asparagus. [Trim asparagus now if you want. I don’t, but I choose quite small pieces of asparagus – just have lots of them!]
3. Fill a medium sized pan with water. [Just enough so it will cover the asparagus.]
4. Bring the water to boil.
5. While the water is boiling, in a small pan, pour in the cream and milk. [Use a wooden spoon to mix.]
6. Once the water is boiled, add the asparagus, and boil for 5 minutes.
7. While the asparagus is cooking, begin to heat the cream and milk, adding pepper as desired. [I normally start with 1/2 teaspoon of ground pepper, and a few peppercorns – I don’t like it too peppery, but it’s up to you how much pepper you put in. Bare in mind we will be peppering the steak too.]
8. Bring the Cream/Milk/Pepper mix to boil. [Stirring occasionally.]
9. Put a dash of olive oil into a frying pan, and put on the hob/stove. [You want the oil to be hot before frying the steak.]
   
10. Gently rub each side of the steak with olive oil.
11. Season according to taste. [I sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper, pressing a few peppercorns into either side of the steak.]
12. Once the asparagus has been boiling for 5 minutes, turn the heat off. [Leave the asparagus in the water for now.]
13. Once the Cream/Milk/Pepper mix is boiling, turn the heat down, and simmer until ready to serve. [Stirring occasionally.]
14. Once the oil is hot, using a draining spoon, drop the asparagus onto the frying pan. [Leaving enough room for the steak.]
15. Fry the steak in the same pan as the asparagus. [I like to fry the asparagus after boiling, I love the taste when some of the steak juices have been absorbed!]
16. Depending on how you like your steak, will depend on how long you fry your steak. I love mine medium/medium rare, and normally only fry each side for 1.5 minutes MAX. [It is up to you, but if you prefer your steak well done, delay frying the asparagus until the steak is almost done.]
17. Once the steak has been cooked, put the steak and asparagus onto a plate.
18. Drain the rest of the liquid from the frying pan into the sauce, mix, and serve!

It’s time for me to talk about secondlife fashion!
Finally Beks! Jesus christ this post has been long. *yawns* Hah, I’m sure some of you are thinking that – I apologise. I hope you enjoyed today’s post so far though!

This month, Contraption is participating in an event called ‘Ohmygacha’ – A gacha event starting on the 1st October. [So yes, it’s already happening!] As per, the items Faust has created for this event are top notch. Wonderful textures throughout, easy to use scripted menus and customization is pretty easy to those ‘mod freaks’ out there! [Like me.]
For this round, he has put out his ‘Junkyard Demons’ set. The set includes 18 differently textured common mesh wings, 6 differently textured rare mesh wings and 1 pair of rare goggles.
I love every single item in this set – especially the rares. The scripted menu makes things easier, and it’s very awesome that he included 3 different positions for the wings – open, normal + back, as well as an easy way to remove the harness for those who want it hidden and aren’t confident in modding. The commons don’t have all the positions, but they do come with the option to have brown or black leather straps, which makes them easy to work with any outfit!
The goggles are just.. well. Goggles. Amazing, butt smacking, neck cracking, booty poppin’, goggles. I’m always a sucker for a good pair of goggles, and these definitely pleased Beks.
So be sure to make your way to the ohmygacha event this month, you don’t want to miss out!

Before I talk a little about the music for this post, and the artist – Parov Stelar, I’m going to talk about one of our favourite stores – Contraption.

Contraption was founded by Faust Steamer + Fluxa Core, two very talented entrepreneur’s, who see the world different to most.
Come, join the rebellion in an alternate world where new ideas and invention are most coveted.

Recently, Contraption have been participating in many events around the grid, so make sure to keep your eye on the flickr pages of Fluxa and Faust. As well as joining the secondlife update group, and popping along to the mainstore in secondlife, every once in a while – as you don’t know what may be newly released!
Not only have they been working on items for events, they have also been working on a whole other story line for Contraption, which will run aside the current story line. Contraption 2088 – Contraption’s cyberpunk line, which is set in the year 2088, away from the wars of 1988 in the original story. Many of the items I will be posting here, will be from this up-coming collection, so keep your eyes pealed. Faust is estimating some releases before Halloween, and I quote ‘Walton F Wainwright “that’s the goal, since – you know, halloween”.’ – so prepare yourself.

Now, before I bore you all to death with my essay writing, I’d like to talk a little about one of my favourite music artists – Parov Stelar.

Parov Stelar, AKA, Marcus Füreder, is an Austrian Musician. He performs with his band “The Parov Stelar Band” as well as Djing worldwide.  Parov Stelar is the head of Etage Noir Recordings.
He first gained experience as a DJ, in the mid 90’s, then he found an interest in producing music. His first work was under the pseudonym, Plasma and his real name. He also became a partner of the label Bushido Recordings.
In 2004 he started producing under the pseudonym Parov Stelar, which was the same year he founded his own label: Etage Noir Recordings. His first release, for Etage Noir, “KissKiss EP” and the soon after released LP  “Rough Cuts”, provided him immediate breakthrough on the international electronic music scene. His unusual and specific approach to music production lead to a massive reaction in his audience, which gave him the reputation as one of the founders of a new genre – Electric Swing.
